As an entrepreneur, I search to for ways to
make money on the internet, I find that the sales page is probably the second most important item that the customer sees. What, you thought it should be the most important! Well to most of the marketers out there that is exactly what they would say. However, I've come to realize that this is actually only second in the importance.
When you look at a sales page what is the first thing that catches your eye? The head line right. Wrong,
it is actually the sales page and everything around it. Yes the page color, size, shape, and texture of the background and sales page is caught even if you don't realize it. Your eyes and subconscious will catch all these things almost instantly. Only your conscious mind will see the Head Line. But you yourself will actually react to the subconscious first.
This is actually where you decide if you will stay long enough to read what it is your looking at or close the tab and look for the next URL that might be of interest to you. What color is your page, is it bright white or a shade of gray? How about the background? Have you decided to completely step away form the norm and make the page and back ground a completely different color. Remember,
you want to catch the prospects eyes and mind ie, their attention. You want them to take quick notice that this is where they want to be at the moment. Now your sales pitch is ready to get to work.
Research colors.
Find the combinations that fit the product that you are selling. What is it you want the potential customer to do? Buy! There are many books out there on Color, how it effects the psychic and how to use colors most effectively. I search the web daily and find that almost all marketers use white and black with a few colors thrown in in strategic spots. This works only because it is what we have come to expect but I'm proposing that with a little change in color formating the sales could increase. I've noticed the I myself will stop at a sales page that is different in some way from the normal longer than I will a run of the mill page. Why? What is it about a gray or almost dark blue back ground with an off white lettering that stops me and makes me take notice?
In your web searching stop and watch yourself, and what your doing to see if you might be doing the same thing without realizing it. I don't know about what others say on this but, I do know that I've read a few of the books on color therapy and how they effect the person. It seams that if were going to keep working on making money on the internet we might be well advised to rethink our strategy on how we set up our sales pages and the colors we are using.
Who knows we just might make a few more sales.
